Rohith Vemula is not a name. Now he’s a flame that is engulfing not only this country, but also the entire world. To my knowledge there has been no such event that reached the whole world, an event not only concerning Dalits, but any issue - no incident attracted the attention of the whole world before.
The SC/ST (POA) Act is not only a provision but more importantly a recognition by the GOI of continuing caste based discrimination and violence in society. If that is the case, then how can an allegation of systemic casteism be considered defamation?

It is a sad day. Senior Advocate, writer, Public intellectual and activist Shri Bojja Tharakam passed away last night around 11.30 pm. His death is a personal loss to me. He is a role model and inspiration for my generation. He is known and will be remembered for his honesty and commitment. He is a great Ambedkarite and Marxist.
In such a case where there is abundance of evidence, no judge can do any harm to the case (we thought). Enormous evidence is there, law is on our side, but the judges are not on our side. He's on the side of the upper caste people.
