In the Singham movie, Surya is an Annachi (Nadar) caste. Villain is also from the Annachi caste. Why can’t you portray depressed castes as policemen ? Why can’t you show them succeed in doing excellent jobs of cleaning up the society ?
We want to say that the students who come here, keeping aside the issue of viva-voce, every day, after reading a chapter, when a student writes something, the “progressive” faculty says that “you have come from Hindi medium, from a vernacular medium, we will not let you go from here with an MPhil/PhD.” Who will talk about that psychological violence? Is that not an issue of social justice?
The fruits of political path for Dalit Bahujans, set by Manyawar Kanshiram, have certainly been achieved to an extent. Having said that, it is also true that persecution of Dalits and Muslims in UP are on the headlines every now and then. Caste system, driven by Brahmanical social order, is still pervasive in most parts of UP and not all Dalit Bahujans are able to break out of its oppressive structures.
Communalism and terrorism are not two different things. Terror is just an aggravated/magnified form of it. The kind of investment made in communalism by fascist, hindutva forces, they believe that if they do terror politics, it will be more useful.

The coming together of Dalits, with a new understanding of the attempt to appropriate them into the Hindu religion, and Muslims, with a renewed understanding of caste/social stratification among them, in common platforms of struggles will alone lead to such an endeavor.
Even after 60 years, statistics of the crimes, criminal rate, and the rapes, whichever way, you know, discrimination in education or employment, whatever, it’s not decreasing. Then, what we have to do now?
