Dalit Camera : Through Un-Touchable Eyes

Press Release – Condemning The Appropriation Of Women’s Movements and Muslim Women’s Voices by BJP Government

It appears that these stories before the Gujarat elections and assembly elections of 2019 will strengthen the image of the current government as a champion of women’s rights which will successively translate into winning election booths. We strongly resist this appropriation and unabashed manipulation of the Muslim community and especially the women.

Press Release: Public hearing on AADHAR related denials of social security

Private vested interests rear their heads

It would be interesting to see the break-up of the 4500 people who have signed the petition for removal of the Health minister. It is highly likely that it would have zero representation from patients and those who access health care. It is doubtful if it would have government doctors either. It would comprise entirely the same group that has been protesting in loud voices against Amendments to the Karnataka Private Medical Establishments Act 2013.

Open letter to the CM, Karnataka about violations on pourakarmika workers by contractors

Open letter to the CM, Karnataka about violations on pourakarmika workers by contractors

As concerned citizens, we demand that the pourkarmika workers be given the same rights as any other citizen of the State and not treated as slaves by the government as well as by the contractors. We demand that the regularisation of the workers be done immediately and they be protected at all costs against abuse by the contractors. The women who have been assaulted should be adequately compensated by the BBMP and a public apology issued to the women workers.

In a historic public hearing process today, people from twenty districts of Karnataka shared their life of denial, struggle and hopelessness in front of a honorable group of jury.

U. Sambashiva Rao: Why all social movements today need Ambedkar, not Gandhi or Arundhati Roy – part2

Even though Arundhati Roy had earned a certain respect earlier by talking about the Adivasi movement, the Dalit movement and the women’s movement – even though all those movements were led by the Adivasis, the Dalits and the women activists themselves respectively – she finally got caught when she attempted to talk of caste.
